First Choice is one of the world leaders in family holidays and their range of Holiday Villages is absolutely second to none. They manage to create the perfect environment for the whole family to enjoy spending time together.
The Villages can be found in Turkey, Rhodes, Majorca, Egypt, Cyprus, Spain and the Algarve region of Portugal. Its fun for the whole family at the Holiday Village in Balaia near Albufeira where you can also splash around in one of the largest pools in the Algarve.
There are three restaurants and a snack bar here, including the daily Buffet restaurant there are also an Italian and Portuguese eateries.
You can choose from four pools in this village, including an indoor one, ideal for during the winter when the weather is a little cooler. The vast array of slides provides something for all ages so the littlest ones are never left out. There are tennis courts, pool tables, internet use, a multi-sports court, a children's playground, high ropes, and organised water polo games, some of which are charged extra. For the grown ups there's a gym, sauna and a sports bar to watch live matches.
The 'twinklestars' creche provide facilities for the littlest members of the family but only ever take three children to one assistant so places are limited, you can also book evening sessions aswell. Baby accessories are also pre-bookable and they've thought of everything from sun tents to pushchairs and sterilisers to bottle warmers all supplied by Mothercare. Babies and toddlers can join the swim and song sessions where they are taught to swim to the sound of music making it even more fun and exciting.
Three to five year olds can join in the 'littlestars' group, while six to eight year olds are treated like 'superstars'. Don't worry if you are age nine to fifteen, they've got that covered too with activities like scrap heap challenge, raft building, DJ-ing, graffiti designing, fencing and archery. All helped by the In2action team who are UK specialists in outdoor activities and help to make sure there's never a dull moment.
It's never cheap taking kids on holidays, especially during the school holiday times. If you book early enough though you might just benefit from free child places meaning cheap holidays in Portugal are a real possibility. Another good tip for finding
cheap holidays in Portugal would be to try and go early May or late October when the resorts are a little bit quieter and the weather perhaps not so hot.
