More and more people are choosing to marry abroad than ever before and I can't say I blame them, fabulous photos, gorgeous weather and a honeymoon all in, it's the perfect scenario and is sure to cost a lot less than a wedding in the UK. Where better to start married life together than with the sun beaming down on you from a cloudless sky, champagne flowing freely and of course, with the partner of your dreams! For me, starting your new life together in relaxing, beautiful surroundings couldn't be more perfect. It's also great for those who dread the thought of those long lost relatives turning up and worrying where to sit them and then having to pay for them!


There are many worldwide destinations which have become popular with the loved up British in recent times, these include;

1) Mexico could be for you if you want stunning photo backdrops and guaranteed sunshine. There are many hotels which you can choose to get married in and you really are pampered, from simple vows to full-on luxury with flower girls and steel bands the choice is yours. It's a great option as you can combine an amazing honeymoon here too; the El Dorado Seaside Suites is one of the best All Inclusive hotels offering a great package. You don't need to be stressed, your wedding co-ordinator will arrange everything for you from the cake to the buttonholes it's all taken care of. The only downside for me would be lack of privacy as the other guests tend to be a bit nosy and can't resist a good wedding!


2) Weddings in Cyprus have been popular for many years, a firm favourite among the British though it can be very expensive here. The hotels rival the standards of those in the Caribbean and aren't that much cheaper. You are sure to get some stunning photos, the settings are wonderful, and whether it's the town hall or a beachfront hotel you choose like the luxurious Grecian Sands. You can include a horse and carriage ride around the town after your vows to celebrate! Family of the happy couple would most probably prefer Cyprus to Mexico as it means that may be able to attend at a shorter flight time and a cheaper price, one to bear in mind!


3) Rhodes-Often overlooked is the small Greek island of Rhodes, weddings have been held here for years but not many people are aware of this. The most popular venue is the tiny white chapel of St Paul in St Paul's Bay, Lindos, but there are several locations to get married on the island, Rhodes Town Hall or Kalithea Spa are two common locations. Named after St Paul who came to the island in 43 AD to teach Christianity, at the foot of the Acropolis and part of the UNESCO world heritage site, the area is protected. A walk (or donkey) back up to the village of Lindos for your reception as the sun is setting will be amazing, fabulous photos will be easy to take here against the backdrop of the shimmering sea. The great thing about weddings in Rhodes is you can stay somewhere that's a little easier on the budget and arrange your wedding separately making cheap Rhodes holidays ideal so you can spend more on the champagne!
